Established in 1971 SAM is the oldest stroke recovery association in Canada.
A Registered Charity (108099474 RR0001) every penny of every dollar, 100%, stays here in Manitoba providing program supports and services to stroke survivors and their families.
Located in beautiful St. Boniface across from Provencher Park there is easy access by car and bus and plenty of parking.
Stroll along the wide boulevard and drop in the coffee shops, unique specialty stores, restaurants and the library.
The backbone of SAM and reason for SAM’s success is the heart of volunteers.
These are people from all walks of life providing; peer support, community outreach, program facilitation, office assistance, board and committee participation, data entry, research, brochure mailing, phone members, reception, assisting with special events and fundraisers – all the activities that bring an organization and community to life.
The Stroke Recovery Association of Manitoba is a member based registered charity receiving donations and grants supporting the programs and services for stroke survivors and their families.
SAM is responsive to the current and emerging needs of those recovering from stroke and their families. Anyone can access services and programs on a drop in basis or through membership.
